Thanks Dale,

Looks like I checked out too early last night.

Subject: RE: [Chevelle-List] 1968 SS wheel well moldings?

FWIW, Just to toss some more fuel on the fire, I checked my GM P&A book
and my CD from Detroit Iron and found the following:

>> I
>> believe they (the '68 moldings) are a one year only part.
>> Here are the numbers listed in the assembly manual:
>>
>> 3920149-50 Molding L. & R.H. 13735-45

Model 13735 is a Concours wagon 6-cyl (13835 is a Concours V-8) but I
don't show a model number 13745 anything in either my GM model reference
chart or my Chevelle deciphering program.

>> 3920153-4 Molding L. & R.H. 13500-600 13837-67-80

Model numbers 13500-13600 are "generic" meaning any Chevelle or Malibu
(135xx and 136xx) while the 13837-67-80 are SS specific. This coincides
with the data from my GM P&A book although the part numbers are
different and that could just be numbers that often get superceded.

My book shows for the front in 8.132 group:
68 Concours - 3928435/436 L.H./R.H. MOULDING UNIT, wheelhouse opening
68 Malibu - 3955683/684 L.H./R.H. MOULDING UNIT, wheel opening (38")

And rear 12.116 group:
68 Concours - 7795053/054 L.H./R.H. rear wheel opening
68 Malibu (Spt. Sed.) - 7795076/077 L.H./R.H. rear wheel opening

I'd almost bet that if you found a P&A book from say 75-76 era that went
back to 68 listings, the part numbers would be different still.

Dale
