Hi!
Sorry! I have to skip Mantorp!
I have a bit of a "situation" here when it comes
to cash!
Spent far too much money on the car this &
last month, I'm approx $400 short.
Hopefully I'll get most of it back from a
club I paid for a garage spot.
I paid them 3 months In advance
before realizing I can't afford that kind of money
for a garage spot, but they promised me that I'll
get a 2 month refund (fingers crossed)
So my car's back where my mom live, got a
garage spot there at a car reconditioner for
$20 a month.
Sadly this makes it a bit harder to work with the
car at the moment :-(
Best regards
Pelle

Transmission Help?????
Too much will
foam. And this will cause some parts of the trans to not get
fluid. Start with 2.5 liters. I think that's 3 quarts. You should
have drive with that amount. Then do what I wrote in the reply about
running your engine. You don't know if this is a good trans? Did you just
install it? Did you fill the torque converter. That will also cause it to
not engage. If you failed to fill the converter add a 1/2 quart at a time
while the engine is running and let the pump fill the converter. Not the
best way to do this though. Keep check the dip stick. If you put too much
you can siphon it out.

Transmission Help?????
When we put it back together we started
with adding 3 liters( I think it is about 6 pints) to it, then we
started up the car. We checked the level and had to add 3 more. To me I
think this is too much but I don't know??
Can you mess it up with too much
oil???
We don't know for sure if this was a good
transmission. Joe was told it was, and it was in the car when we got
it.

Dave, it
sounds like you don't have enough fluid in the trans. If the fluid
level is low especially when cold, complete loss of the forward
gears will result. Run the engine at a fast idle with the trans
in park for about 2-3 minutes. Let the idle come down and check the
fluid level. Be sure you use DEXRON to fill it and the car is sitting
on level ground. Keep the engine running while you fill it. If all you
did was drain the pan add 3 quarts then check the level as described
above. One thing to keep in mind is there is only 1 pint difference
between the add and full mark on the dip stick. This will be a cold
reading so after you drive the car and get the trans up to temp.
check it again. There is not much you can move or disconnect just
working on the parking pawl so this has to be your problem. Be sure
you used a new "O" ring on that dip stick tube or you may have a
leak.. Hope this helps you out. Low fluid is the quickest way to
grenade a trans.

Transmission Help?????
We have a problem with the
transmission, NO forward drive gears. The transmision pan was
leaking and had no park, so we changed the filter, gasket and fluid.
It is a 400 Turbo.Reverse is working.
1:Could Joe have moved something, or
hit something when he was fixing the park pin?( it was just
jammed)
2:How many
litres, pints does it take when just removing the pan and filter?(
Had to find dip stick tube and bought new dipstick and was wondering
if we have the right level?)
3:Will to much oil make it not work
also?
The car
is getting really close now!!!!
Thank you in
advance!!!
