Hello and Thanks for getting back to me,
Yes, twice. probably more than that because I don't think I
sent it off right the first time, and I think I've tried reposting it
all in all three or four times today.
Sarcasm? I'll happily apologize for sounding off earlier, I never saw
the original email that ticked off Sarge, but I wasn't being sarcastic.
I am serious when I say I joined this forum to talk about Chevelles.
Maybe I'm missing something, is there a web page with all these
questions and answers? or is it just emails in our mailboxes? I only
know I got three very nasty remarks to someone who obviously said
something to Sarge or Larry that got them upset. I don't have anything
here set on auto delete. And I'm getting these posts by the bunches. But
I do feel like I missed something. Albeit I did just join this group.
Anyway, I thank you for replying. I'm sure someone must know about these
steel fender well staples, I tried a chevy dealership with no luck. I'm
pretty sure any 69-72 Chevelle would have these dust covers over the
control arms. I have an assembly manual here with pictures of the
staples and their placement, It just doesn't say how to go about
stapling them on. Its my best guess to pilot drill the holes for the
staples.
I really have to find out about the grill. I won it on ebay and it
looks like someone spilled something on it. If I can paint it S.G.black
and its okay for show, then all is well. If not, it goes back...
If someone would send me a link to this website I'd appreciate it, I
must have gone through 20 Chevelle webpages looking for some answers
before I found this forum. Its been frustrating trying to get an answer
to these two questions. I can't put the front end back together until I
get these Staples in. I wouldn't want to attempt it when the fenders are
on the car. Thanks for everyone's input and help. I've been building
this Chevelle for many years with the help of my friend. I hope to post
pictures after we get it painted. The motor is a 400 SB, bored 30 over
with a 270H comp cam, 9.5-1 diamandtop pistons, TRW stainless 2.02 and
1.60 Valves. Cloyes timing chain, TRW oil pump, polished and ported
heads. Its got a 350 turbo glide with 2.73 rear end. My favorite pastime
is letting BMW's and caddy's think they might overtake me and then I
just walk away from them. Its so fun to watch their expressions when
they realize they can't keep up with my primer gray beast. Sometimes I
think I should paint it
F-16 silver because it flies so fast. Thanks for reading! Best to you
all. Diane
