Hi Brian,

 

Back in the old days angle plug heads were the hot ticket because they moved the spark plug closer to the center of the cylinder.  Now-a-days with the advanced combustion chamber design - fast burn, high swirl, relocated valve angles, etc., angle plug heads are no longer an advantage.

So, what are the advantages or disadvantages and/or reasons for using angled plugs or straight plugs in a small block head? Do they work better with headers? Better spark angle for better ignition? Just looking at the options on aftermarket heads and was wondering which is better for what applications.
