I like the idea of an extra crossmember too.
I would definitely have a professional welder do it, but I think I want to find someone that has done it before. Just to be sure it's done right.
Well, it seems like no one has had this done? I'm just wondering if the benefits will be worth it.

OK, that makes sense. Seems like it would add a little extra weight though. I also think that if you added a "X" between the frame rails behind the trans crossmember to in front of the kick up that would stiffen it even better than boxing.
