A Small world it is Wayne and thanks for your reply. I knew I would run into some other
hams in the old car game as it sort of fits. I have some vintage ham stuff that I won't go into
great detail on but a Johnson Desk KW (#074), a Globe King 500B, a National SW 3 and FB 7
with rare preselector give an idea of that obsession.
I absolutely agree on the SS options theory you have. I like the looks of all the SS options.
Also am aware that in 1970 anything SS was an option not a model. No big deal for me. Expect
I will put in an SS dash and blacken out the front grill as in the SS cars. I thinks it looks much
better on any color I have seen than the "chrome". My personal take will be to leave off the SS
emblems and make the car have more of a "shaved" look as in the old days but not totally. I have
some ideas about very subtle custom emblems. Still thinking all this over but pretty sure more SS
options are in the future for this car.
Yep, with the SS (sun spot :>) ) lull I can devote more time to the car. So far it has been a lot
of fun just driving around. It gets a lot of comments on the street. A lot of detail work needs
to be done and not knowing much things will start off slowly I am sure. I expect the local club
is going to be a big help in finding folks in the area who are competent or experts in certain areas
of restoration. I will proceed slowly so as not to make mistakes. A digital pix record will be kept
of the progression of the car for future use. So far I have only fixed several little glitches, put
in a new battery and new back shocks. Other than that is has all been "detective" work.

Hello Mike  and welcome aboard ....

No one going to Laugh at you.. Your have a great car there...
and with the WWV reports showing the numbers they have as the cycle declines.
You'll have time to spend on you NEW Chevelle....
 As for the " Clone,Tribute " issue.. ( I have both. A  real and a clone car)
I subscribe to the Notion.. " It's your Thing.... Do what you want to do "
It you like the looks of a  SS car... go for it.. and the GREAT majority of will admire it for what it represents.
But just be Honest in it representation regarding the SS subject..
If I were into the later model year Chevlles 69/72 it would glisten with all the SS options.

An index page should come up at http://www.sofnet.com/~k0az/  then you can select
the various shots. I will repost this as I had left out the ~ in my original post to the list.
Sorry about that.
