Hi Mike,

When I got to the wiring on my Elky, I replaced every piece of the wire
harness with new harnesses from M&H Wiring. While it wasn't cheap, it was
fool proof and gave me confidence in the car's electrical reliability. On
top of the new harnesses, I made some important improvements with parts and
ideas from M.A.D. Enterprises...

One thing I did do that contrasts the M.A.D. philosophy is I went with a
one-wire alternator. However, I'm using a GM CS-130 alternator and so far
it's been more than up to the task of powering my electrical needs.

In my opinion, you're on the right track, get in touch with Mark at M.A.D.
because he will provide you with more ideas and info than you'll probably
need.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Replacing 40 year old wiring

Can I open up discussion on wiring? I had thought I
would keep my original wiring and upgrade it with a
kit deom MAD Enterprises because the early Chevrolets
had a fairly large voltage drop from the Horn Relay to
the dash switches. My car is a non SS car and I just
want supportability. So, with that said, what has been
your experience? Has anyone used the "Painless"
replacement assemblies? Thanks in advance for your
thoughts and help.
