hey Steve i would not sweat the fire wall in that area not an eye catching spot, focus on the top left don't fill the 7/16 hole's that holed the insulter pad inside and the heater box holes and the top two screwhole in the center for your wire holder, just clean up the dimples, and it will look great, too much smoothing changes the look, just clean it up a tad,  you will like it more in the long run, ive done three 69 firewall sorry i have no current pic, gl  rick
