[Chevelle-list] Bell housings

Is it true that the biggest engine that a bell housings stamped 3858403 is a 327?  It is aluminum and if that is true I dont know that i trust it.  Not sure what to do with it at this point.  It was given to me though so if there is any chance it would hold up to regular street driving please let me know you guy's thoughts.   Thanks Ryan
