Chevelle Wiring Harness
Gene, how long will
you be offering the 15% discount on M&H wiring harness sets and how would
one take advantage or place an order to receive the discount? I am
planning on rewiring my 70 Chevelle this winter as my main project, however I
have a third back surgery looming within the next three weeks and after just
having two back surgeries in July cant really put that kind of money out
right at this moment.
Also can you give me
a web sight that I can review what wiring harness sets that M&H and
yourself offer or have available?
Thanks,
Chuck

Chevelle Wiring Harness
When I get my income tax refund,
my plan is to but a complete M&H set for my 66 SS through Gene and take
advantage of his 15% discount. He'll save me enough to pick up a set of patch
panels for my fenders...
On the other hand, my boy wants to
buy a generic harness for his 68 SS so he can save some money. Unfortunately,
I will end up doing the work I'm sure.

I too
used M&H when I was putting my 66 back together about 5 or so years
ago. I replaced every wire from bumper to bumper; it cost
about $800 at the time. I haven't had a single wiring related
problem since. I did make a few changes though, such as a
remote starter relay w/ a relocated main power distribution, headlight
relays, and fan relays all from M.A.D.

I think the difference is that
M&H makes a factory replacement harness. Wire coloring, lengths
& ends are as GM made them back in the day. Harnesses are plug
& play.
Painless makes generic
harnesses and may not be color coded same as GM, you cut them to
length & there are no or very few wire connectors on the ends. A
more do-it-yourself approach.
This is as I understood things a few
years back when I was looking for a harness, may be different now.
Both companies produce quality
items.

I have to agree
with Clint, I bought/ordered everything from M&H either thru the
website or calling and talking to Ken Petty at
M&H [
[EMAIL PROTECTED]]
All
the harness were top of the line and everything fit together as
designed, absolutely no problems..... They are sometimes out of stock
and have to make them up, so if you use M&H, give some lead time.. I
had to wait a couple of weeks to get the dash harness with gauges, but
considering the quality it was worth the wait..

In a month
or so, I will be in the market for a wiring harness for my 66 SS396.
Who would you recommend I go to to buy one? I need a complete
harness from headlights to tail lights. I've looked in a couple of
places, and I'm starting to see it adds up in a hurry.
Any
suggestions would be appreciated... John Nasta, you do
wiring?
