That engine with a 200-4R would be a nice combination,Dennis. You should be able to install one in your 65 for around $1,000 or so.

Hi Guys,

I won the crate motor in our local car show this Sunday!

A 330 HP 350 with  aluminum intake manifold, Holley carb, air cleaner, distributor, water pump and headers contributed by Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa!

The plan is to slip it into my original ’65 Malibu SS, replacing the somewhat tired 283 with 107,000 on it.  This A/C car, with Powerglide, 3.31 gears and the original 14” wheels turns about 3000 RPM at 60 MPH.

The big question is whether to retain the PG.  What kind of money is involved in converting to a 200-4R or 700-R4?

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dennis
