Thanks to all that took a few minutes to answer this.   I thought the doors would interchange, but did not know that the glass & hardware was different.

The interchange manual says:

right p/n 4492506

left   p/n 4492507

usage: 1964-65 Chevelle  two-door hardtop or convertible

notes: When swapping from hardtop to convertible, glass and all hardware must be removed and replaced with convertible components.

According to my Chevrolet parts book, same door is called for on 64/65 Malibu 2-dr – meaning any Malibu hardtop or convertible I would assume.  Odd they only show a replacement door for the left hand side. ?

We’re about to start in on painting my ragtop, finally.   I have a door that I would like to replace or re-skin.   Do any of the gurus on the list know if the hardtop door will interchange with the convertible?

Thanks,
