I am probably going to change engines after the first of the year and have
been looking around at various crates. I want to be able to use as many of
the accessories as I can off of my current 350, Holley 670 Street Avenger,
Sanderson headers, MSD ignition system, power steering, alternator, March
pullies, etc. as I can to help keep costs down. Have you looked at the new
Crate 350ci that Year One is offering, or I am also considering the 355ci,
or 383ci (will have to bite the bullet on some of the accessories if I go
this route) that Street Rod Headquarters has. Again both are not complete
engines, but built up to and including the airgap manifold.

I think at this point I may be leaning more toward the Street Rod Hq.
engines, but I need to talk to them a little before making a final decision.

Right now I am having a 700R4 with a lock out 2400rpm converter installed.
Can't wait till it is all together and get it out on the street next spring.

Engine and trans will be getting a good test as I have registered for the
2008 Hot Rod Tour along with one of the other guys in my Chevy club that has
a 70 Chevelle also.

I don't know if this helps or not, but might give you a couple of more
options.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] engine question

Iam trying to decide on an engine for my 70 chevelle. I really like the
looks of the 350/320hp turn key that Jegs has. But then again, should I go
the extra step and get the 383 stroker. Is anybody running either of these
two motors in a 70. And if so can you tell me how you like it. And also,
does anybody know who has the best deals on either of these two crate
motors. Thanks so much for your input. Bob.
