I spent many days at both Fremont and Half Moon Bay drag strips. What a
great time. I have seen all the famous drag racers. Stone Woods and
Cook, Dan Garlits, Gas Ronda, The glass slipper, Haden Profit, Tommy
Ivo, all of them. I raced my 53 pontiac powered Studie at Fremont in D
gas. I lived in Menlo Park across the San Francisco Bay from Fremont
Drag and on calm days could hear the dragsters run.

and his son Bob and Sammy Hale, the last driver of the Champion
nostalgia car. In one of the last frames of this clip, you can see
Hale wearing one of the “team” shirts, red with a big black and
white Juxtapoz “spade” logo, designed by Craig Stecyk, on the
back. Hanging in our office, we have the identical logo from the
blower cover, on a framed, carbon fiber plaque they gave us that
has the 5.87 et signed by Hale, and it also includes the blown
piston and spun rod bearing from the run. Great memories of some
