The bearing was not dry. It was greased and working, but the inner race was stuck to the spindle. I think the thing is that when you have a car that has been sitting and you change the bearings, you should clean the spindle w/ emery cloth and put some anti-seize or at least some grease between the bearing race and the spindle.
