Another thought... I also highly believe it is a great learning tool
for children to have and care for (or help care for) animals in their
childhood. It teaching them unconditional love, reasonability, hard
work, etc. It even teaches them how to deal with the lost of a petÂ… Our
youngest is going though that right now with his mice. We have had them
for 3 years (we adopted them from another family and they are 4.5 years
old right now) and 1 has past away from old age, 1 is very ill from
cancer and the last two are aging.
My oldest chose to adopt an older ferret (age 4 years) because he
wanted to give him a good forever home.
In my house animals are not our petsÂ… they are family members.
Therefore receiving the same respect we give each other.
