Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Size
The AKC Breed Standard for the Chihuahua says this breed is to
be between 2 to 6 lbs. So, what this means is that if a Chi goes over 6 lbs
they can't be shown but they are still a purebred Chi.
Many breeds have either a weight or height limit for showing. Many years
ago I raised and showed AKC registered Miniature Poodles which have a height
limit of 15". Some of my puppies were large and I knew that they were going to
go oversize, so these puppies were sold into good pet homes but they were
still registered miniature poodles.

Ok
Everyone is saying that 6lbs is the max for a pure breed Chihuahua but
I am not sure this is really true. All the chi's I've ever
had was over 6 pounds.
