Marilyn,

These sound nice. Do you think you could take a picture of them and either post them to the group or just e-mail them directly to me?

Thanks,
Kat

Hi Kat,We got the Closet shelf material from Home Depot and they are only 16 inches high. They are like a metal grate with a lip on one side. I can't remember the brand, but, I know they come in several sizes to fit the racks in the closet. I wish I had a picture to send. My husband Jim put an extra piece of door molding in the door frames so the shelf would slide right in. They are very easy to step over since they are only 16" high and I cover them with a bath towel to remind me they are there. They are great for night time since my bedroom is off the the hallway from the kitchen. When ever we go out I put the gates up and all 3 dogs know they are supposed to be on the kitchen side of the gate and they will come to the kitchen when they see me pull the gates out from behind the fridge.Hope this helps.Hugs, Marilyn

Marilyn, do your gates swing open or do you just climb over them? How did you make them?

We have 3 little ones, 2 Yorkies and a long-haired Chi. We put up gates between the kitchen and the carpeted areas of the house. We also put pads down on the linoleum floors and it seemed to work. They are used to the kitchen area and we never have any more accidents on the carpet, which is a blessing since we have dark brown carpet..LOL.. The gates we have are made from metal grate shelving bought at Home Depot. They can see through them so they don't feel penned off from the rest of the house.Good luck Lauren..Hugs, Marilyn in Minnesota
