Hello I looked it up in the"chihuahua for dummies" book for nipping,
which is a really good book by the way!

I will write what it says in the book,

Puppies use their mouths to investigate htings, much the same way
humans use their hands. They also use their mouths in play, and
sometimes, to vent their high spirits. But needle-sharp teeth hurt,
so puppies must be taught tht nipping isn't nice.

Resist the urge to jerk your hand away from your puppy when he clamps
down on it. That's the canine vesion of an invitation to play, so
pulling away just makes him come back for another nip.

Its' fine to pet your puppy as he licks and mouths you, but if he
clamps downs with his teeth, tell him it hurts. How? Say ouch! And
say it like you mean it. Screech it out in a high pitched voice that
lets your dog know he hurt you. Then say it everytime he touches you
with his teeth.

I would have told you in my own words but I would had left something
out..LOL Hope this helps.

Julie
