THAT is very interesting!   Just throwing this out..but I was at the AKC web site a week or so ago, and I read that if the dad dog or the mama dog of a litter is under a certain age(the ages are on the site) the litter cannot be registered without jumping through a few hoops.  (AKC would want proof when a breeder is saying some "puppy" sired a litter, etc.) katie " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends!
