Great story. How do all the males get along together?

Subject: [Chihuahuas] How I got my boys

Well everyone has a story about how they got their dogs, here is mine and a
picture of my boys
Charly the diabetic min pin was a birthday present from my hubby, we called
an ad in the newspaper one day about 8 years ago for minpins and the lady
said I only have one left so we went and had a look and he was adorable. On
the way home he was cuddled up on my chest and as he looked up at me I just
had a feeling that his name was Charly.
As for Tiko my chi/pom I saw another ad in a paper for dogs with special
needs so I made a phone call and the man said that he was a breeder of afgan
hounds but also did rescues of abused dogs and that he had a little
chihuahua mix that had a sad story. He had been abused and neglected and
because of that he was very timid and scared and not at all trusting of
people. He told me that he had given this little guy to an older lady but
that she had decided that the dog didnt bond with her after a couple of days
so she was bringing him back. I drove over to the guys house and got there
just as the lady got out of her car, she held my little TIko out in front of
her like he was something nasty. Of course I was hooked on him the moment I
saw his little terrified face. He came home with me that day and hasnt been
out of my sight since. His name was Buddy at the time but I decided that he
needed a fresh start and he didnt look like a Buddy so we called him Tiko.
It has taken him years to get trust for us and to not be scared but it is
definatly worth all the work. He is loving and sweet and a great big
brother.
Then there is Peanut, He is my little nutter butter. I had recently lost my
rat terrier to a mystery disease that the vets couldnt help him with and was
devastated. I went to the shelter just to look at the dogs but this shelter
had a reason why every dog I looked at was unavailable at the time do to
waiting lists and the like. I complained so much about how I was there and
ready to adopt that they finally told me that they had a couple of baby chis
in the back that I could look at and there was my Peanut and his brother,
three months old and cute as could be. I wanted to take them both but they
said that someone that worked at the shelter wanted Peanuts brother but that
I could take Peanut home that day. It was love at first site for everyone in
my family.
Lastly (so far) there is my little man Tux. About three months or so after
we lost our rat terrier my dauschand also died of old age and there I was
heartbroken again. I promised my hubby that I wouldnt get any more dogs for
a while but it wasnt meant to be I had the urge a few months later to just
stop and look at a store the lady said they had a few chis and since Peanut
and Tiko were so fantastic I knew I wanted one more. She said she had just
gotten a couple of longhaired babies in so I went to see them and fell in
love. Unfortunately I coulodnt afford both of the so I took home this tiny
little black and white bundle of joy. When I walked ionto the house and took
him out of his blanket my daughter said he looks like a Tux and thats what
he was.
So when it comes to picking out the right one sometimes you find them but
sometimes they need you and either situation works I think!!
