Hi folks -- I joined this group a while back to read up on Chihuahuas in
anticipation of adopting one. However, a Pomeranian became available at our
local shelter last week, so we took her. My daughter has been wanting one for
quite some time. Still hoping to add a Chi, but will have to wait until some
of our others pass away.
In the meantime, I wanted to let everyone know that we would love to foster any
Chis that may need a temporary home in our area. We're located about halfway
between Chicago and St. Louis. I have a foster license in affiliation with our
local shelter where I also walk dogs every other Friday. I dogsit in our home
(for 10 years!). We have a large fenced yard and lots of love. We have a 12.5
year old 3-legged greyhound, a 10 year old miniature poodle, 9 year old Boston
terrier, 8 year old Manchester terrier, and the new 6 year old Pom, all
spayed/neutered. I was founder and first president of our local greyhound
rescue (got burned out big-time, personally fostered 100+ in 4 years time, and
placed 400+ with the help of other fosters).
If any of you are with a Chi rescue, please keep my email address handy. I'll
probably be signing off this list soon, until we're ready to add a Chi to our
family. I've enjoyed reading everyone's emails and have learned a lot!
