New to this Breed. Advice Hi. We are in love with our newest addition to the family. She is such a cutie. Even my husband, who was raised with larger breeds, is captivated. I have two questions. When she runs, she often runs with her left hind leg curled up under her. In other words, she is running on three legs. She is not in any pain and at times, she "forgets" and will run and walk with this leg down (= all 4 legs). It seems almost like a habit. Is it possible this leg was once broken and she became used to pulling it up when she ran to avoid pain/stress on it? Do you think this is anything to be concerned about? Secondly, when we adopted her she weighed about 4 pounds. She is now up to over 5 pounds within the past three months since we had her. What do you recommend for the best dietary dry dog food for chihuahuas? I will mention that she was just spayed when we adopted her. Sadly, someone had used her as a puppy maker for quite a few litters and then discarded her at the SPCA. Their loss, our families gain. We have found a new best friend. Thanks in advance for your expertise on this wonderful breed of dog. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better pen pal.
