Yeah, I called the vet at midnight and they said I should bring her in so I
went to put her in her carrier and there was a puppy, just in the time i was
on the phone. so we worked on him for a couple hours because his lungs were
very sticky and he was gasping for air and we could only hear a smack in there
no breath sounds or crying. finally he started breathing ok after much
suction, mouth to mouth and cpr. He is fine now. but I didn't get anymore
puppies. so at 6am I loaded her up and we went to the emergency vet. It takes
about 20 min to get there. I signed in and they put us in a room, the nurse
comes to check...contraction and two min later a puppy. that puppy didn't make
it she was born with a heartbeat, but no breating after 15 min of oxygen and
cpr her little heart gave out and they couldn't bring her back. mom went on to
have 3 more thriving puppies for a total of 2 boys and 2 girls. She is tired
and hungry, but fine. all are nursing and napping. I don't have a clue as to
what took her so long, but I guess the car ride stimulated something because
she had all pups with no aid, just pushed them right out in like 3 contractions
each. we have two at 1.8 oz one at 2.5 oz, and one at 3.2 oz. they are
adorable and I will post pictures soon. Thanks everyone for your help and
prayers.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] FW: Help!!! IN LABOR?

Help, my chi has gone into labor...I thinkshe has passed a brownish sac of
fluid mostly out, but no puppy. she has had this sac out for almost two hours.
she does not seem in any distress nor do I notice any real contractions. She
is not upset or whining, and she has been napping. How long will this go on
before a puppy or the vet? I have not had this before. Her last liter went
like clock work. Is this normal for the water sac to hang for a couple hours?
Please Help
