the AKC standards are fine...maybe Gloria needs to change her standards?? lol just kidding. Seriously though, I strongly encourage adopting from a shelter or rescue. My website even indicates that I prefer someone to adopt rather than buy from me if they feel they are simply wanting a companion. But what a lot of anti-breeders don't realise is that sometimes, people just have a desire for a special purebred to standards dog (of whatever their chosen breed is) While I love a good mixed breed, there is something to be said for the individual characteristics of a purebred that can not be found in a mixed breed. This is why there IS still a legit NEED for good breeders. Marsha
