Bless you! Did you do that today or yesterday? Did you call first to make sure that he was still their?
Putting down money only reassures the dogs safety, IF a rescue can pull him. If no one steps up on their last day to rescue him (pull him and hold him for a possible adoption) then the funds are applied to another more adoptable dog. The funds that they receive in a situation like this only covers the pulled dog's fee for boarding, not the adoption fee. Boarding is necessary so the dog can receive a rabies shot and the paper work is done before he is actually released to a rescue or for adoption. They are usually boarded for only a couple of days at a local Vet's office for this particular shelter. That's the way the Southern states run their shelters. It's not just the money that shelters need, it's the lack of space for so many dogs, and not enough people to take care of them. The day before any holiday is a black day for the dogs in shelters. You would think that the shelters would make PTD, the day after a holiday, giving them that extra 24 hours, since a lot more people would not be working and have the time to stop by a shelter, including rescue people. ♥ Peggy & The Girls ♥ -----Original Message----- From: SUSIEWHO48 <[email protected]> To: Chihuahuas <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, Nov 24, 2010 2:59 pm Subject: [Chihuahuas] Re: Chi-in High Kill Rome,GA Shelter I offered to cover the fee so someone can adopt him for free.
