Peggy

if no one has given you the link to the video, try to do a search for it on Google. You will be surprised what you can find.
another option is call some vets in your area and ask if they know of a vet who specializes in seizures in dogs. I believe you might want to try to get her on meds to see if that will help. How long has she been doing this? I think I missed that post.

Shanna, your are a sweetie, thank you so much for your support and research. I did read the first email on seizures, because some one in the group had posted it a couple of days ago. That's when things started to fall into place in my mind as to what was going on with her.  The second email that you sent with the link, explains it even better, thank you.  I have been keeping a diary on her for the past month and a half when this all started. Today it lasted a lot longer then in the past. I am so worried now that they may get worse and last longer.

I can understand what you are trying to explain that they are unaware of what they are doing, her mind seems like it drifts in and out.  Now why didn't the stupid Vet out and out say that it was this type of seizure? All I got was that it was some type of brain damage. So now that I have 3 confirmations from you and others that also feel it is seizures I am going to another Vet.

Right now she is sitting on my l lap and was lightly banging her head on my chest, then she stops and hangs her head down and doesn't respond. A couple of seconds later she is licking my face, then she konks out. This is something new too, she did this for the first time this afternoon. She wants to stay with me all the time. So maybe she knows something is wrong, but can't remember what it is.

I am going to keep reading more on this and make a list for the Vet. Now I have to research for a new local Vet who is more aware of these especially in Chi's.

Some one, some where had given a link that had a video on it by a Vet who specializes in seizures and was asking for people to help him in his research. I have tried to find that link or site several times and couldn't. I can't remember if it was this group or somewhere else that it was posted. I really would like to find it.

Hi Peggy

Gigi is in my thoughts and prayers! it almost sounds like she is having very small seizures.. just not the knock down drag out ones. Makes her confused... like in outer space, then sleeps.  I feel really bad for you and poor Gigi.

I was once married to a guy who had seizures. He had the grand mal ones. He would yell, fall, shake, etc... then fall asleep right where he was and snore really loud. I would wake him up and get him to bed. He always looked so dazed, and out of it when I was walking him to bed. He would sleep the rest of the day and most of the night. He would tell me when he woke up after sleeping all day that he remembers nothing.

Poor Gigi is acting strange again all day. She is constantly smelling everything! Even on my lap, she can't seem to settle down and stop looking at her back, wiggling a lot because she can't sit still, and then she stops and just stares at my shirt with that blank look in her eyes again.  If I put her down on the floor she does the same thing with everything in site. She is really having a hard time of it today. This is so pathetic! Then after about 5 minutes of this, the only peace she seems to have is when she falls to sleep, and it does seem to knock her out too.

We had four days without any real episodes and it was so wonderful to see her tail up and wagging  so much, and playing and running. Now it's like it was before again. It's heartbreaking. I really think that these are those weird type of seizures that I read about.

I am going to be watching her real close all night and hopefully it will stop again.

She needs some Paw Prayers my friends...
