Maybe we need to call Cesar Millan for our sweet little Ricky. He reminds me
so much of my Sami when I got him and he was only 8 weeks old! I did private
lessons at Pets Mart for him, I asked around for the best trainer and she
was wonderful. It took some time but Sami got through his issues and became
a wonderful dog and I know Ricky will too, maybe Ricky needs a Lucy to keep
him company?

Shanna,

I just wanted to let you know that when I had Monster in training, there was
only one other dog. And in one level, he was the only one. I don't know how
it will be up where you are, but you might not have to worry about other
dogs in the class. Also, if there are other dogs, the dogs stay on leash
while training and its a very controlled environment when its all older
dogs. You can ask any trainer at petsmart anything you want to know and they
should be able to help you even if you're not in the classes. I would ask
them how they think he would handle it and maybe ask about the other dogs in
the class you're interested in. Also, they can help you with deciding what
kind of harness, leash, halti to use. I use a harness with Monster.

Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone

I would like to learn how to train "Ricky" basic obedients without using a
collar. His neck is just too small and I do not want to injur him. He wears
a harness for walks, collar for tags only. What about a halti? Remember he
is aggressive (bites) when he does not want to do something you want him to
do. How to handle him under these conditions without getting bit? Or do you
think its best to take him to Petsmart for training? He does not like other
dogs, or people. :(
