When I'm inside looking at all the snow, I'm overwhelmed by it all, but then I think, it sure is pretty. That thought only stays with me a short time before I come to my senses and pray that it melts soon. May be March before we see grass, even if it is brown grass, again but to not ever see snow would for me just not be right.
I took an Amtrak trip to Louisiana about this time last year. Had a small layover in Texas (Longview) right on the border of Louisiana. It was chilly but not that bad. My friends and I just had light weight coats on and weren't really bothered by the snow. People from Texas looked at us funny. When we got to Louisiana, it was like springtime to us. I saw green grass in February, that NEVER happens in Missouri. I was wearing short sleeved shirts and light weight jackets while people from Louisiana walked around like they were freezing to death. I enjoyed the week of warmer weather while everyone from that area thought we were crazy. It's amazing how the body acclimates to a certain temperature. I'd love to live in a warmer climate. I am in Central Texas and although we hardly ever get any snow, its predicted that we'll get an inch or two this evening or tomorrow morning. For most people here, that's a novelty to look forward to. Take care and stay warm. Gloria
