Good to hear that she will be okay, and that Desi's legs are okay too. They
sound like a fun couple to have!

We just got home a little while ago. The vet said that she does have a
respiratory infection but it isn’t as bad as it has been in the past…I guess
I am getting better at seeing the signs, plus I have been giving her the
Atarax to help with the congestion but not fast enough. I also had them
empty her anal glands because a few weeks ago I thought she was constipated,
but pumpkin every days wasn’t helping…he did say that they were very full.
I asked him about Desi’s little legs that splay out at the wrists like a
doxie does…he said that it will not cause problems needing surgery…that is a
relief.
So, Dolly is on meds every 12 hours which is easy for me, because I can just
give her the meds at the same time that I take mine. I bought her at
Petland and she had a surgery for an umbilical hernia when she was 7 weeks…I
was the first non-breeder, non-vet, non-pet store person that ever held her.
I noticed some funny sounds coming from her and they kept taking her back
to have someone listen to her, and they told me she was OK. It got worse
after I got home and I took her to the vet first thing the next morning.
She had a nasty respiratory infection and she was actually coughing and it
felt like it was coming from her belly…it took four weeks to get that gone
because we even had to change meds because she was worse after 1 week. I
don’t know if the initial infection was kennel cough because the vet didn’t
tell me to keep her away from other dogs. But, I wonder if she has some
congenital thing that she has a lot of these infections.

Well, hopefully this time she will get well faster because it got caught
earlier.
Thanks for the prayers…I don’t know what I would do if something bad
happened to her!

I have to take Dolly to the vet today because she is having some respiratory
issues. I am giving her the Atarax, but really need the vet to look at her
because of her history of respiratory infections. Dolly will never go
without Desi, and vice versa. I will have him weigh and examine Desi to see
if he needs a little more food. He looks thin to me because Dolly is
shorter and therefore looks wider. They have different bone structure too.
Desi is very long and tall and his rear bones are quite a bit narrower. He
has the little doxie wrists where his feet point outward…maybe I should
bring that to the attention of the vet because he is very long and has those
feet…maybe a bit doxie in him.
