Hi Beth, So the grays are more visible every day huh? (lol), stress will do that to you, won't it? As you may have noticed, I am way far behind in reading emails. I have a neighbor I am close to who needed help to and from medical treatments and then my MIL, 97 years, who I deeply love and adore, is still living in her home, cooking, cleaning, doing her own laundry, but needs me for certain things (dr., groceries, ladder jobs, etc., she's almost legally blind. So am trying my best to get caught up, and so sorry for the delay in reading about all you are going through with your little girl. I know it's difficult. I loved reading how you feel Smidgen chose you (SO cute how she wormed her way onto your lap and into your heart) instead of the other way around, and isn't that the way it really happens sometimes. She must just have known you were the perfect mommy for her (tear). I feel sad too, that you have to consider the possibilities of what Smidgen's heart tests reveal. And how it will affect not only you if she becomes worse, but also Chassis. I went to this site: _www.caninehearthealth.com/home.htm_ (http://www.caninehearthealth.com/home.htm) to read a little bit about the product you mentioned and read some of the testimonials and they certainly sounded encouraging and promising, there was even a little blonde Chihuahua story there. I couldn't really tell if there was long term improvement, but sounded like initially their dogs had a really positive response to the supplements. But also you must consider, like you said, it is a very expensive. I guess you just must weigh all the info you have about Smidgen's health, and then try to make the best decision. It did sound like on the testimonials, the peoples' pet's vets were not offering any hope for their pets, (Smidgen has not reached that point) and in a short amount of time their pets seemed to show a positive health response. I do try to go more natural health supplements for my pets than prescription med,s if possible. Smidgen seeming better when you checked on them must have given you a positive feeling. I know, if I had all the worrying erased and money back I have spent on all our dogs and cats, trying to save their lives; procedures, operations, treatments, x-rays, etc., well, it doesn't matter because the love and joy they have given me has been worth far more than any of the above. I am wishing you the best in whatever decision you decide upon for little Smidgen. I wish I could help more. Continued prayers she will improve. A big hug from me, Lynn In a message dated 4/12/2011 7:34:00 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
Hi Lynn, Good to hear from you!! Oh I think I have a few more Grey hairs this week~! I swear I can feel them pop through my scalp!!! LOL Thank you for the Prayers.. I try and not think about loosing my sweet Smidgen.. I'll always remember going too see her.. I was looking for a black and white pup.. The people said they had a couple too choose from. So I went to check them out. The two I went to look at, had no interest in me at all. Sweet Smidge came and laid in my lap. She stayed the whole time I was there. So I said I guess she has picked me. That was in 02. I thought her color was ugly when I first saw her..LOL Little did I know it was a rare color, blue and tan.. Her coat is supper soft like rabbit fur, and not coarse like Vida's fur. Chassis her daughter has the same soft fur. She has given me so much Joy! I don't want to lose her! I don't know how Chassis will do with out her either.. Scares me too death. The vet did say no more shots and no more teeth cleaning for Smidgen. I just wished I had more time to research some supplements, or natural treatments. I found on site called Canine Heart Health, they have several supplements, but don't know anything about them. They are expensive, so it would be nice to know some information, or talk to someone that has used them.. I went home at lunch to check on her and the rest of the crew, she seemed to feel better today then yesterday.. Beth
