Hi Naomi
Welcome to the group! What is your little one's name?
I have two chi's at the moment and soon on Aug. 4th I will have three!
I used to breed them but I only breed mini dachshunds at this time.
That amount of food is all right because you have to remember your baby has
a very little tummy. That said I caution........check the dog food sack and
make sure that she is receiving a GOOD food. The ingredients should begin
with first with chicken or beef and then make sure it isn't full of MSG and
flours and corn."Blue" has a good food as well as Eukanuba and Wellness and
others.Make sure she always has access to water and she has potty breaks
every couple of hours.I was pleased to hear she had her first set of shots.
Did he worm her also? I would love to see a picture of her....all of us here
love pics !
You will find this is a warm, non judging list.
Sometimes we all have opinions but we resolve things peacefully...lmbo!
I am attaching pics of one of my boys and then Miss Emily the one I am
adopting ....also.
Have a good time here !
Hugs,Mare in Oklahoma

Subject: [Chihuahuas] New to the list...

Hi, my name is Naomi and I just bought me an adorable Chihuahua on May 9th.
When I bought her the people said she was 9 weeks old. They bought her from
someone else and decided that they couldn’t handle a puppy. It was a little
weird when I went to see her because when I knocked they didn’t come out the
front door, they came out from the side of the house just holding her with
nothing else. No bed, toys, blanket, food and no shot records. They just
handed her to me and took the money. I was a little suspicious but I wanted
her so bad.
I immediately took her to the vet and thank God she was checked out okay.
She got her first set of shots and a nice warm bath on the same day.
I have two questions for you “Chihuahua experts”. One, I drown her with
affection constantly, hugging her, kissing her, scratching her tummy, but
she seems kind of indifferent to me. She loves to play but the affection
she acts like she could do without. Are all Chihuahuas like that? Also,
she doesn’t eat very much. I serve her once in the morning and that’s it.
It takes her the whole day into late night to finish that one bowl of food.
And it’s not a big bowl of food. The bowl is very small so I would say less
than ½ cup. Is this normal? She’s been to the vet twice and she went from
2.8lbs. to 3.5lbs. That’s a good sign. Feedback please??????
