I like to think of everyone here as a second family. I do have some family
that behave in an opinionated, their way or no way, style. I have to endure
that because they are my blood family.

This group, as I think that I wrote before, is a group of Chihuahua owners.
We post about out little ones and from time to time, we do post about other
things. I want to know when someone is having a problem – maybe something
that one of us knows can help them. I want to know if someone is sick, or
if they went on vacation the things that were the most exciting, and I also
want people to post things that are causing them stress and pain. I would
like to think that Chihuahua owners are kind and considerate, and also that
when it comes to the other members that we are very caring. After all, I
think that a lot of the things in our lives do in some way affect our
Chihuahuas, and vice versa.

I want you to stay. There should be NO REASON for people to be rude or
berate others because they are actually egotistical that their way is the
only way. I am responsible for taking care of Dolly & Desi…loving them,
caring for them, feeding them, and whatever else goes with pet ownership.
There are many opinions on what to feed them; whether they should have
vaccines or not; and a whole host of other decisions…yes decisions meaning
that each of us has to decide for ourselves and our little furries.

I am sure that not everyone on this group eats the same foods; I am sure
that those that have children don’t feed them all the same things; I am sure
that there are many things that we do with different options – but I do not
believe that anyone on this group would do something that is wrong for their
Chihuahua.

I think that negative statements regarding feeding, vaccinations, sleeping
on human beds or being in a car without any restraints do not help because
we all have different reasons for the things that we do. For example, I am
so safety conscious because of the number of rear-end collisions that I
have been a victim of. I don’t want Dolly & Desi to go flying through my
windshield if I get rear-ended. For many, that would never happen…but I
don’t want to take a chance on that, so I have Dolly & Desi in a booster
seat with vest harnesses on and tethered to the booster seat which is
securely attached to the sides and around the headrest of the car seat. I
don’t push that on others. I know that I have posted about it once in a
while, but I don’t expect everyone to do that just because I believe so
strongly in it…FOR ME! Some people put their chi’s in a little kennel or
carrier in the car…that is what they feel strongly about…but we are all
doing what we believe is best!

I want everyone to stay. I want everyone to feel free to post about what
they do, but not to berate someone else because they do something different.

Good night!

I come from an awful contentious family of origin.

But I choose not to have that in my life anymore. I choose NOT to be a part
of folks who value their own beliefs MORE THAN they value the person they're
arguing with.

In the last few weeks there has been ugliness over food choices, origin of
chihuahuas and discussion of off-topic issues.

I WANT to know when a friend is having issues that may or may not pertain to
my dog.
I WANT to know if someone has different idea than I have about a healthy way
to feed my dog.
I was VERY interested in the idea that chihuahuas are not regular dogs (and
I've enjoyed reading up on the idea presented).

However, the message that said to take the computer discussion offline; the
flat-out rudeness when someone stated the possible fennec fox origin; and
the hostile responses about whether to feed raw or kibble, bones or rawhide,
& fruits and veggies or not has tapped the end of my patience.
