I know that some form of calcium needs to be added whether it is a powdered
supplement or finely ground bone or egg shell.  Others on the list may be
able to tell you more about this. I just mashed mine with a potato masher
so it still had chunks in it.  I used to cook for our poodle mix before she
passes last year because she had a very sensitive stomach.  I gave her a
good multivitamin/mineral supplement to make up for the calcium and other
minerals I might be missing. Now I feed Solid Gold and Blue Buffalo.
