Carolyn,
No one can make that decision for you. I believe in a quality of
life not quantity. So when Bart, who was blind, very literally developed
dementia, I had him put down. I stayed with him and he left very gently and
quietly. I wrapped him in his favorite blanket and buried him in my backyard.
I the spring I will plant a tree over his grave. I miss him terribly, but I
know he is waiting for me in heaven. May God bless you in and with your
decision.

But how do I know when? And how do I not feel guilty that I ended his life. I
sorta understand the pain and all that, but I just look at my Joe and can't
imagine it.

My thoughts are with you, Carolyn, during such a difficult time. I think Joe is
trying to thank you for being such a good "mama"...and I think he can sense
your heart is breaking for him. Just remember, when the time comes, he will be
waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
