I have an 18 yr old chi, that when she doesn't want her food that I can give her baby food. She lays and sleeps most of the time but she will get up from time to time and want to go out. The vet told me back in September 2011 that she was dying and had kidney failure, ataxia and heart murmur. The vet is surprised that she is still around and that she walks into the vet office on her on free will. I find that they will let you know when the time is right for them to pass on. Jewell was my husband’s dog and so has a very special meaning and attachment to me. She is at least 13 yrs old. For 3 days she has had a low grade black diaherrea. Not squirting, just a few dribbles. I looked up what that could mean and it says internal bleeding. She ate well this morning and both meals the other 2 days. She just lays on the couch all day, except when I take her out. She does not appear to be in pain. Now here is the rest of my problem. I’ve had one emergency after another which has drained my resources down to nothing. Credit cards are maxed out, checking account is overdrawn. I am NOT asking for money. I just want to know if you think I should put her to sleep when my check comes in if she has not improved.
