I looked it up on Wikipedia. They are such beautiful dogs. I did hear of
Russian Wolfhounds before.just didn't know that is what a Borzoi is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borzoi

I like the way they describe them: 'as adults they are decorative couch
potatoes with remarkably gracious house-manners'.

Judy.did you cook for them? The description said that they don't do well on
kibble. But they do well on oats and meager table scraps. Just thought
that if they kill wolves that they would be meat eaters.

On the bottom of your post, you have pugs, chugs (Chihuahua/Pug mix) then
you have bugs (???/Pug Mix)

I hope that Jewell is doing better. Poor little lady. I am praying that
she makes a swift recovery. So she normally cannot be playing with the
others, or is it just when you are not right there with all of them, and
then they think their 'alpha' is not there and then they can attack her? I
don't think that I have ever heard of that kind of stuff happening with dogs
in the same house.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Peggy, I've had it happen when I had all Borzoi. Wolf packs do not protect
worn out leaders. The new leader leads the pack into killing the old
leader.

Oh, I didn't know she was a senior. Yes, I have heard of that before and
usually it is when you have a mix of different breeds in a pack. I read some
where once that if the pack is all of the same breed it is very unusual, and
if anything they protect the older one, especially if it was once the pack
leader. Such is nature, I guess.

In a wolf pack old dogs are killed by the pack once they lose their value to
the pack. That is why they do this. Most people do not have packs of dogs
like I do. But I have seen this before when we had 9 big dogs. Breaking up
a pack attack by big dogs can be pretty dangerous. I've been bitten a time
or two because they wouldn't pay attention to my voice.

Jewell is somewhere around 12 to 15 years old.

The 3 pug and pug mixes attacked Jewell (chihuahua and jack Russell) . She
has a badly bruised hock, but no punctures or bites. Scared me to death.
I've been crying and praying about it.
