Hi Sheila,
I used chicken breast, sliced them as thin as I could. Lay them onto a baking
sheet sprayed with Pam, and popped them into the oven @ 200 degrees for 2 1/2
hours. Turned them over for that last 1/2 hour.
Place into sealed bags and keep in the fridge.
Time consuming, but they are worth it!

I have a dehydrator, but used the oven. Set it at 200 degrees and baked for 2
1/2 hours. The dogs absolutely loved it! I am not sure how long the
debydrator will take. Next time I will try it, and then post.

Did you use a dehydrator? I have heard that you can make the jerky w/o one
    but it takes longer.

I am so done with buying products for my Chihuahuas that they seem to love,
but I read and hear negative things about, since they are products of China.
This weekend I made the chicken jerky right here at home. I definetly looks
different from the store bought stuff, but the girls love it!!
At least now, I know exactly what they are consuming, and NO preservatives!!
It needs to be refrigerated, but I know that it is fresh, and if I make
bigger batches, I can stick them in the freezer.
A little more trouble and buying from the store, but they are worth it!!
