I had a golden retriever a few years ago that had an E-collar.  She ran thru 
the dog door at 90 mph with the collar on.  Tipped her head down as she 
approached, started thru, then brought her head up.  It flexed enough to make 
an oval and never slowed her down!  Unfortunately we lost her to cancer.  Still 
miss her...

so far she's good with the T-shirt and hasn't bothered with the stitches.
shes still overly tired but other then that, she's been eating and drinking 
well.
