Bernhard, got the issue resolved.
It was part user error and user instructions. The instructions stated to press the PTT 3 times. Another member sent me directions to only hold it and the Mon button when powering up. You should try to capture the log while trying to download from and then upload to your FT-50. Hint: it's easier to copy it into Notepad (or your editor of choice) and then to save it and attach as a text file. Thanks!
