Issue 3057: Let both Go and Reload change to Stop http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=3057
Comment #12 by figaro1111: I agree with this 100%. If I wanted to stop a web page from loading and then refresh my clicks would be on two opposite sides of my screen. "Why not just refresh the page first and skip the whole stopping part?" you might ask. Well first of all I feel more like there's a response from the refresh button if the page was stopped before hand. Secondly, more people are used to having the stop button to the left with the back, forward, refresh, and home buttons. What would be more useful under your mouse after clicking the stop button? The Go To button or the Refresh button? You might ask, "Go To does virtually the same thing as the Refresh button, so what's the difference?" Well why not just get rid of the refresh button all together then? True the Go To button does the same as the Refresh button, except the Refresh button reloads the current page rather then whatever is in the Omnibox. If the Omnibox was empty go wouldn't work. I'll re-list the pros and cons for fixing this issue: Pros: People will adapt more to the UI and meet their expectations; Refresh and Stop will be closer to each other; By stopping before refreshing people feel like the action will uninterrupted. Cons: It wont be apart of the 'initial design'; (I can't think of any reason why not to make this change, especially if various people have already demanded it.) Hmm, 3:1. I tried my best to convince the team, also please. :D -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
