Although I don't want the updater running 24x7, I do like the silent  
updates.  The
simplicity and non-clutter of chrome is what made me switch from firefox  
(every time
you startup there's an update!).  I understand people wanting control and
notification, however, and I wouldn't mind if chrome notified users the  
same way
popups, downloads or crashes are notified - a little bar with an  
explanation that
goes away as soon as you do something.  But a pop up window saying "Google  
Chrome has
updated" or "There's an update to Google Chrome" is too much.  I'm sure  
eventually it
will be an option, however, so kudos to the Google Team.
