Comment #21 on issue 5278 by p...@chromium.org: Reopen closed tab in its original position http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5278
Unfortunately, comment #4 is not a complete spec. Here's one possibility: Q: What do we do? A: However we're reopening a tab (NTP, keyboard, menu), put it in the same window, at the same position, it came from. Q: What if the window the tab was in has been closed? A: Open a new window for it. Q: What if I close two tabs, then close the window they were in, then reopen the two tabs? A: They'll each end up in a separate, new window. (Ick.) Keeping track of which tabs a tab was associated with is more complicated than it's worth. Q: Should we bring the newly opened tab/window to the front? A: Probably, since otherwise the action might be completely invisible. Q: Won't that be jarring, especially for the context-menu choice? A: Yes. But a global "Undo Close Tab" is a little out of place in what feels like a tab-strip context menu anyway. But then, so is "Task Manager". Q: Can we move "Undo Close Tab" and "Task Manager" into the wrench menu, then? A: Stop causing trouble. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
