url address when first word is a search engine

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Chrome, ensure google is the default search engine
2. type google sketchup
3. backspace to clear the entry

What is the expected result?

User should be able to delete the entry


What happens instead?

User cannot (without effort) or shift delete remove the word "google".
It will keep autosuggesting from your history
