Comment #2 on issue 15813 by [email protected]: fail to install on 64bit
ubuntu
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=15813
I had a similar issue when I tried to install from the deb package on
Ubuntu hardy
(8.0.4) amd64. The error message I got is 'Error: Dependency is not
satisfiable:
ia32-libs-gtk'.
ia32-libs was installed and is up to date. However, I couldn't install
ia32-libs-gtk
(universe is enabled. It's enabled out of the box and I made sure it's
indeed enabled
by checking /etc/apt/sources.list
$ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs-gtk

Package ia32-libs-gtk is a virtual package provided by:
ia32-libs 2.2ubuntu11
You should explicitly select one to install.
E: Package ia32-libs-gtk has no installation candidate
Synaptic showed me ia32-libs-gtk, but it wouldn't let me install it saying
that
there's no installation candidate (because it's either obsolete or the
repository
with the package is not enabled ... ).
'dpkg-query -L ia32-libs' lists a bunch of gtk 32-bit libraries. So, it
appears that
all the files that belong to ia32-libs-gtk are already on my system. (I
have no
trouble building chromium out of the source tree and running my build).
