Why is it limited to Mac? it's also wanted on Linux. Gnome has a pref to  
choose
between the Gnome bindings (Default) and the Emacs bindings.

$ gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme
Emacs

Or is a new bug needed for Linux?
