Comment #5 on issue 18251 by Jonathan007: Using Tab Key To Browse Address
Bar History Broken
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=18251

The fact that tab-to-search doesn't work in all cases is a bug make sense
and would
make the feature consistent.

However, FF/IE still has functionality that is not present in chrome.

As suggested above, would it be possible to have a settings option added to
disable
address bar search and then make the default tab action the ability to
cycle through
address bar history?

I wouldn't push this issue if I didn't think it was important. As noted
above, this
is the only reason I'm not using chrome right now and there are many others
I work
with who feel the same way. Pressing tab on the address bar after typing in
one or
two letters is the fastest way to visit a website located on the address
bar. This
functionality is in FF/IE and I'd think that Chrome would want to compete
to bring in
tech savvy internet users.

If you're looking for more people to discuss this with, I have a dozen or
so people I
know who can tell you the same thing. Once you learn to use tab to browse
through
history on the address bar you don't want to use a browser that doesn't
have it.
