In my opinion, if other major browsers also fail to go back to the
desired pages, it is more like the sites' problems than browsers'.

FYI: How Chrome handles redirect
If a page redirect occurs
- within 5 seconds after the initial loading, and
- without any user gestures,
Chrome considers it as an automatic (i.e. machine-initiated) and
the redirection source page is not put into the history.
