I know this is WontFixed an all, but I wanted to note down the following somewhere: After having used this in the dev channel for two weeks, this is still very annoying for me, but for a (for me) surprising reason: I use the omnibox mainly as a search box, and I'm now very confused that it behaves differently than other search boxes on the web (say, the search box on youtube or the one in gmail). I end up double-clicking the omnibox to select all and single-clicking search boxes in youtube and gmail, and generally feeling uncomfortable when dealing with search boxes.
