How aggressive is the auto-updater? I know that on my machine I had to go to
the about dialog and explicitly update it. It was aware of the update, but
had never offered to update itself.

Since Chrome updates itself automatically, there shouldn't be much in the
way of older versions installed anywhere, at least once a few days have
passed after a new release.

I agree that they would still be useful to web developers, though. When
something suddenly starts working (or breaking), it's good to be able to
trace it back to confirm that a new version is the cause.

I've added Mark to the Cc list in case he's not following this mailing list.
